RENOWNED JAZZ PIANIST SCOTT WILKIE FEATURED IN CHRISTMAS ‘JOY’ CONCERT

Fallbrook, CABest-selling contemporary jazz keyboardist Scott Willkie brings “JOY” – his popular Christmas concert to Fallbrook’s Mission Theater on Sunday, December 3, at 2 p.m.

“We can’t wait to welcome Scott Wilkie and his powerhouse ensemble back to Fallbrook for an afternoon filled with Christmas joy, said Bob Freaney, President of Fallbrook Music Society.  “This concert features the group’s unique arrangements of holiday classics alongside beautiful traditional carols – and this year Scott has promised a couple of surprises for our Fallbrook audience,” he added.

Mr. Wilkie will be performing his tenth annual JOY concert.  The album that inspired the concert was released in 2015, followed by a special-edition DVD and a live stream concert.  Fallbrook’s Mission Theater will be especially fitting for Scott’s performance, as it features a Yamaha C7 concert grand, exactly like Wilkie’s piano at home, and heard on all of his recordings.

Born and raised in Detroit, Scott Wilkie came to Southern California more than 30 years ago.  Known for his fiery live performances, he has performed worldwide, and his eight albums have garnered critical acclaim.  His release “Brasil” was honored by Jazziz magazine as of the ‘Best of 2019,” and it spent over three straight months at the top of Amazon’s Hot Sellers list.  Scott’s arrangements of holiday classics are inspired by the unique energy of his longtime bandmates Pat Kelley on guitar, bassist Darryl Williams and Jeff Olson, drums.

This year, Fallbrook’s Scott Wilkie “JOY” concert is generously sponsored by Ken Follis & Sharon Robinson Compass Group Real Estate.
